Chelsea’s 2 Window Transfer Ban Appeal Rejected

Chelsea have had their appeal to have their 2 window transfer ban lifted has been rejected by FIFA

Why have they got a 2 window transfer ban ?

As they signed under 18 players under rule breaking terms. The Rule they broke was ; under 18 players are not allowed to move to a club in a different country unless their parents are moving there for non-footballing reasons, or unless they are aged 16-18 and moving within the EU.

What does it mean for their current squad ?

Whilst Chelsea are officially allowed to sell Players they’re not allowed to recruit any. This includes not being allowed to turn Loan signings permanent. Therefore they cannot sign Mateo Kovacic or Gonzalo Higuain .

When can they next Sign Players ?

Chelsea are allowed to sign Players anytime however they’re not allowed to register them as Chelsea Players until summer 2020 which means they won’t be eligible to play .

Is it all bad ?

Most Chelsea fans see this as a blessing in disguise, as they now have to play some of their own academy talent which most fans believe will benefit the club immensely.
